Neuromorphic and Neuroinspired Computing

The position will focus on development of new neuromorphic computing paradigms based on novel device technologies.

Previous experience in two of below areas is required:
  • Nanoscale device fabrication
  • On chip integration
  • Neuromorphic circuits
  • Neural network models and machine learning algorithms
We are looking for highly self-motivated and independent scholars with a passion for technology and computing. The position will provide a unique interdisciplinary training for the fellow and opportunity to closely collaborate with researcher from UCSD Electrical Engineering and Neuroscience. The fellow will work under the supervision of Professor Duygu Kuzum. The fellow is expected to work well in a collaborative environment and also supervise PhD and masters students involved in the project. Multi-modal Probing of Neural-circuits

The position will focus on simultaneous multi-photon imaging and electrophysiology experiments in organoids and rodents and using new neural interface technologies. The position will focus on development of new neuromorphic computing paradigms based on novel device technologies. Previous experience in one or two of below areas is required:
  • Microfabrication
  • Neural engineering, on chip integration
  • In vivo 2-photon imaging and imaging/recording data analysis
  • Experience with electrophysiological recordings with cell cultures, organoids or in vivoExperience with photonic systems will also be considered if the PhD is in Electrical Engineering. This position will provide a great opportunity to neuroscience PhDs to expand their research interests into various new neurotechnologies and gain experience in design, development of new neurotechnologies in an interdisciplinary research group.
